We CARE
For more than sixty years, the Sea Turtle Conservancy has led global efforts to protect sea turtles through science, policy, and education. As the organization looked to evolve its digital presence, AVANTI partnered with STC to create a communications platform capable of translating decades of conservation leadership into a message supporters, educators, policymakers, and future advocates could immediately understand. The result was CARE—a unifying framework that became the foundation for a redesigned digital experience and future campaign storytelling.
CARE
The challenge wasn’t a lack of impact. It was a matter of clarity.
Sea Turtle Conservancy’s work spans research, conservation initiatives, public policy, and educational outreach across the globe. While the organization had built a remarkable legacy, communicating the full scope of that work in a clear and accessible way remained an opportunity.
To address this, we developed a simple framework that distilled the organization’s mission into four pillars:
Conservation. Advocacy. Research. Education.
Together, CARE created a common language capable of connecting scientific rigor with public understanding.
A Platform for Conservation
The new website brought the framework to life.
Designed as an active conservation hub rather than a static archive, the experience invites visitors to explore initiatives, follow real-time turtle migrations through interactive tracking maps, and engage with the stories behind the research itself.
The design balances authority with accessibility, reflecting both the scientific credibility of the organization and the emotional connection people feel toward protecting sea turtles and marine ecosystems.
Beyond the Website
The CARE platform was designed to extend beyond the digital experience.
As the organization continued to engage supporters and advocates, the framework became a foundation for future storytelling efforts, creating consistency across channels and campaigns.
One expression of that platform emerged through We CARE, a social-first video initiative built around footage captured during the Tour de Turtle program. The campaign connected each pillar of CARE to a shared responsibility, reinforcing the idea that protecting sea turtles requires more than science alone.
It requires people who care.
A Shared Responsibility
By creating a clearer way to communicate the organization’s mission, CARE helped transform decades of conservation leadership into a story that audiences could more easily understand, support, and share.
The result was more than a website launch or a campaign.
It was a communications foundation designed to support Sea Turtle Conservancy’s mission for years to come.
